Description
Statice ‘White’
This new generation of statice has tall very slender stems especially bred for floristry.
Limonium sinuatum (Statice sinuata) annual statice used for cutting and drying as everlasting flowers.
Statice, also known as Sea Lavender, this ‘White’ variety is perfect for Weddings.
Fast growing and easy for the beginner, limonium sinuatum, is wonderful used fresh in bouquets and arrangements, filling in all those awkward gaps.
You can also dry stems for use during Winter, I have added a photo to the gallery. Simply tie stems tightly, turn upside down for at least a month in a cool dry location. Click here for a video.
How to grow:
Grows quickly from seed so you don’t want to start seeds too early, however, plants flower better if conditions are still cold following germination.
Sow seeds onto the surface of the compost. Seeds require light for germination so do not cover with compost.
A bit of warmth will help germination, 19-22°C is ideal.
Apart from the ‘odd’ blown over stem, plants are robust so should not require any staking.

Cutting /Vase Life:
Long summer days encourage flowering with plants surviving until the frosts. Harvest once 50% of the flowers have opened on a stem. If you pick them too early, stems can wilt. You will notice stems feel firmer under your fingers when they are ready for picking. Excellent vase life of 8 days or dry for indefinite use.
