Ranunculus ‘Super Green’

Top quality florist grade corms. A blend of Green and White flowers, each one different. Some are completely green and look a bit like an artichoke.  Ranunculus ‘Super Green’ corms are out of this world and absolutely nothing like those you find in packets in the garden centre.

I absolutely could not be without these queen blooms and I’ve steadily been extending my patch year on year.

Packet size: 10 bulbs

How to Grow:

Corms will arrive in a dehydrated state and need to be soaked in a bowl of water for a few hours before planting in pots or cell trays of at least 6.5cm square.

Rodents love to steal your precious corms so you need to protect them until the corms develop into plants.

Growing Ranunculus will be new to most gardeners, so I will be providing step by step growing advice and videos on over on Instagram Stories (its free)  and for busy gardeners you can now plan ahead with our Anemone & Ranunculus Handbook

Autumn started corms blooms from the end of March right through April usually finishing around the beginning of May. However the cold Spring of 2021 delayed the start of flowering and blooms continued into the beginning of May.

Late Winter / Early Spring started corms generally flower for us from the middle of May well into June, again the cold Spring of 2021 delayed flowering and we were still picking the last of the flowers in early July.

Local weather conditions will affect the exact blooming times and Ranunculus will need frost protection to protect both the leaves and blooms from damage.

Autumn sown corms will be taller growing up to 50-60 cm, Spring started corms will still reach an impressive 45-55 cm.

Position plants in full sun

Cutting /Vase Life:

With a vase life of up to 10 days, ranunculus make a supreme cut flower. For the longest vase life cut when buds are coloured and soft (called the marshmallow stage) allowing them to open in the vase. For Wedding work or to bring into the house, more open flowers will still last up to a week.

Place flowers straight into ready buckets of water. We rest our stems for a few hours in water, this is called conditioning.

These corms have been bred for the professional cut flower industry. F1 hybrid hand pollinated, you may occasionally receive the odd ‘rouge’ a colour outside your selection. Personally I love it when that happens. We would never have discovered a huge cafe au lait coloured variety in our patch of white flowers. It turned out to be Chamallow and is now our number 1 best seller alongside this Marshmallow variety.
