Stems are not hollow which means although the stems are slender they are very strong. They do not need staking, however keep plants in a sheltered conditions to protect from adverse weather, pots are great because you can move them.
Plants should produce at least 5 stems, but if grown in ideal conditions they can produce up to 10 stems.

How to Grow:
Corms will arrive in a dehydrated state and need to be soaked in a bowl of water for 12 hours (or overnight) before planting up for pre-sprouting.
Rodents love to steal your precious corms so you need to protect them until the corms develop into plants.
Plants also need a period of cool growing conditions; this triggers the plant to branch and create the multiple stems.
Plant Ranunculus Butterfly™ 30cm (12 inches) apart.
Growing Ranunculus Butterfly™ will be new to most gardeners, so I will be providing step by step growing advice and videos, if you subscribe to my You Tube channel you will be notified as each video goes live.
Busy gardeners can now plan ahead with our new season Anemones, Ranunculus & Ranunculus Butterfly Handbook 2023.
Flowering:
From an Autumn starting Ranunculus Butterfly ™ can flower as early as March.
Late Winter / early Spring started corms generally flower for me from around the middle of May and continue blooming well into June.
A warm Spring will bring flowering forward and a cold Spring will delay flowering.
Local weather conditions will affect the exact blooming times and Ranunculus will need frost protection to protect both the leaves and blooms from damage.
Cutting /Vase Life:
For the longest vase life cut when the first flower on the flowering branch is open and at least 3 of the buds are showing colour.
Cut the whole stem near the base, being careful not to ‘nick’ any of the new emerging stems.
Place flowers straight into buckets of clean clear water. We rest our stems in a cool dark location for at least a few hours in water, preferably overnight, This is called conditioning.
More buds will open in the vase over the coming days, to create a stunning and long-lasting arrangement.
Plants are protected and propagation prohibited. This is to ensure these special ranunculus varieties are only released following careful development and carry the registered trademarks.
