Seeds sold out everywhere but we did manage to track this down but at a higher cost.

Delicate cascading flowers in warm cherry red and caramel buff, Phlox drummondii ‘Cherry Caramel’ is not to be confused with perennial, herbaceous varieties such as Phlox paniculata or alpines such as Phlox douglasii and Phlox subulata which is an evergreen alpine.

So beautiful you can arrange it on its own for quick simple table flowers and for bouquets and arrangements I use Phlox drummondii to fill in gaps and give arrangements that final flourish!

In the garden this versatile plant looks magnificent wherever you plant it, from beds and borders to patio pots and containers.

How to grow:

Sow seeds in early spring. Plants need darkness for germination.

This can be achieved by sifting a layer of compost over the seeds after sowing, I often use an upturned gravel tray (a tray without drainage holes) to be extra sure it’s properly dark. If using this method be sure to check trays daily and move to the light as soon as germination has occurred.

Plant out spaced 20 cm apart after the last frosts.

Cutting /Vase Life:

Pinch and deadhead to create longer stems. Pick as soon as the flowers start to open, straight into ready buckets of water.  We rest our stems for a few hours in water, this is called conditioning. Petals are delicate, take care not to splash.
